The developer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red, was interviewed recently at E3 2016 and the developer had nothing but kind words to say about the Nintendo NX console.
Rocket Beans TV interviewed Fabian Mario Döehla in German. Thanks to a translation from Nintengen, we found out some of the positive things he had to say about the Nintendo NX.
Döehla admitted that the NX will be “fantastic. As developer [CD Projekt] you get access to the hardware and everybody [at CD Projekt] is looking forward. We know things.”
He then further said: “It was like this in the past as the Wii prototypes came in, back then called “Revolution”. It was so funny that in Japan they were all very excited at the developer studios of SEGA, they thought it was very good. The Europeans took a little longer. Like “Well, maybe this doesn’t work”, you know, because it was technically just a GameCube. It was not much more. But NX what you hear [of the developers] about NX is all very positive”
The interviewer asked him that it’s unlikely the NX will be more powerful than the Project Scorpio console by Microsoft. Döehla just said that Nintendo’s focus these days are not about power. This mirrors the words that Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime said about the console being more about content than raw power.
