It was recently announced that there will be an in-game event to celebrate the seasonal equinox in Pokémon GO. The Equinox Event will run from 1:00PM PDT on September 22, which is the first day of fall, to 1:00PM PDT on October 2.

The announcement states that, like many Pokémon GO events, there will be several things involved in this Equinox Event. Players will earn double the normal amount of stardust for catching and hatching Pokémon during this time. During the event, players will also be able to receive special 2 km Eggs from PokéStops and Gyms that will hatch Pokémon that don’t normally hatch from 2 km Eggs, such as Chansey, Mareep and Larvitar, all of which normally hatch from 10 km Eggs, as well as others.

The game’s in-game shop will have special boxes for sale that will include such items as Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules and a new item called a Super Incubator, which hatches Eggs 1.5 times faster than normal Incubators. Players will also receive triple the normal amount of XP when catching a new Pokémon. The announcement encourages players to take advantage of this by catching whichever Legendary Dog is in your area, since catching them gives players a ton of XP normally, so getting triple that amount for players who haven’t caught Entei, Raikou or Suicune yet would be a massive amount of XP. For those who already caught your region’s Legendary Dog, remember that they switch regions on September 30, just a couple of days before the Equinox Event ends.
