Blue Protocol has been in the mind of RPG fans since its announcement back in 2019 and it seems that the radio silence around the game has finally come to an end. During a presentation, a new launch window was presented giving gamers hope to see the game soon. Let’s go over when you can expect to get your hands on Blue Protocol for yourself and what new information we know about that game.

Blue Protocol Release Date Revealed

It has been radio silence for the last year for Blue Protocol but the silence has been broken. During the recent live stream that was hosted a lot of information was revealed about Blue Protocol including an anticipated release date.

Blue Protocol received a spring 2023 release window for PC but this is limited to Japan. However many players still have hope as the team mentioned that a new trailer will be shown during The 2022 Game Awards which might hint toward localization and a global release.

If you are interested in trying the game out you can sign up for a network test that is going to be run in January from the 14 to the 16. The test is planned to host 50,000 players and if more than that amount of people sign up a lottery system will be used to select players.

What Classes Are Confirmed for Blue Protocol

We now know about a few of the classes that are going to be selectable by players when the game launches. Currently, there are five known classes; Aegis Fighter, Blast Archer, Heavy Smasher, Spell Caster and Twin Striker. Each class will have regular weapon skills, four sets of tactical skills and an Ultimate.

The Aegis Fighter seems to be the tanking class as they wield a sword and shield. They can block attacks with the shield but will need to be careful as blocking too many attacks will break their shield gauge and disable any skills that make use of the shield.

Blast Archer doesn’t have much information available about them at the moment. They will most likely be a ranged DPS class as most archers are. They do have one of the few healing abilities that are currently known which might allow them to play a more supportive role depending on other skill options.

Spell Caster will be the other option for ranged DPS as they will use elemental magic to tear enemies apart or burn them to a crisp. Spell Caster will have to make a choice when spell casting as they can empower their spells by charging them up before throwing them out.

The Heavy Smasher is one of your two melee DPS options. Wielding a large hammer, they are able to deal devastating blows to single targets as well as slow down whoever they hit. It was also noted that the ball on the end of the hammer can be used as a cannon by charging up and being fired out. This most likely won’t be their main form of DPS but is nice to have a ranged option on a melee class.

Finally, we have the Twin Striker. This melee DPS can interestingly be used as a backup tank should you not have someone playing an Aegis Fighter. This is because they have built-in lifesteal on their attacks to keep themselves up. However, they can be used as a DPS as well since they deal more damage based on their combo meter which goes up with each hit they land and decreases when they get hit.

It leads to a good balance as they can tank but deal low damage, or DPS and focus on staying out of damage. Hopefully, the trailer at The Game Awards will reveal a bit more about the game and what is coming with it but until then we will just have to wait.

Fortnite’s High Octane celebration event is here, giving players the chance to earn exclusive rewards in Fortnite, Rocket League, and Rocket League Sideswipe by completing a set of in-game quests. A handful of High Octane quests revolve around performing tricks in the new Octane vehicle, while the rest are centered around exciting Creator Experiences; player-made game modes inspired by Rocket League and its iconic vehicle. Here’s our full guide to completing all High Octane quests in Fortnite.

High Octane Fornite Battle Royale / Zero Build Quests

Fly 100 Meters Continuously in an Octane

The first set of High Octane Quests involves performing specific feats in the new Octane vehicle, which can be found around the Island in Fortnite’s Battle Royale or Zero Build modes. These quests should be no sweat for veterans of Rocket League, as the Octane controls in the exact same way, meaning your years of practicing tricks should certainly pay off here. There are a total of three quests, which can only be completed in either mode and award the player with 20,000 XP. Completing these quests also contribute toward Octane Bonus Goals, which unlock further cosmetic rewards, as well as exclusive items in Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe.

Perform a 720 Front or Back Flip in the Air with an Octane

To fly 100 meters continuously in an Octane, Jump and then tilt the car backward, with the hood facing the sky. Hold the Boost button for as long as possible, and the Octane will start to fly. Although a 100-meter fly can be done with a well-timed jump on the ground, this quest is best completed from a high area, such as a mountain or hill. The floating platform to the North West of Greasy Grove is perfect for this, as an Octane spawns directly in front of a large ramp.

To perform a 720 front or back flip in the air with an Octane, simply jump from a high point, boost, and then hold your designated Air Roll button, which is the same one you use to zoom in on weapons by default. That is LT on Xbox, L2 on PlayStation, ZL on Switch, and right-click on PC. Like before, the floating platform between Greasy Grove and the Reality Tree is a perfect spot for this.

Hit Opponents while Riding in an Octane

To hit opponents while riding in an Octane, drive directly into players. Quest progress is counted with any hit, so you can relentlessly ram into the same player three times if you wish. The easiest way to do this is to boost directly into them; just keep an eye on your fuel gauge.

Octane Fortnite Creator Experience Quests

There are eight total Octane Creator Experience quests in Fortnite’s High Octane event, awarding 20,000 XP each, as well as each completion contributing towards Octane Bonus Goals. The Creator Experiences featured in the quests are Rl Live, Snipers vs Octanes, Octane Race, and Rocketeer Ruins, with each Experience having two quests tied to them. Each Creator Experience can be accessed via the High Octane Quests section of the Discover tab.

Earn Points at RL Live

To earn points at RL Live, you will need to participate in the Freestyle or Racetrack minigames inside of the Rocket League Live – Neo Tokyo Creator Experience (Island Code: 9775-0165-8588v2). Head straight into the Racetrack minigame and simply drive around the track until you have accumulated enough points to complete your quests, which require you to earn 100 and 250 points, respectively. Seasoned Rocket League players may prefer Freestyle, which instead awards points for flying through hard-to-reach hoops.

Damage Car Opponents and Eliminate Sniper Opponents in Snipers vs Octanes

In the Snipers vs Octanes Creator Experience (Island Code: 8992-9205-6512v26), players are assigned as a Sniper or an Octane at the beginning of each round, with both sides trying to eliminate each other As a Sniper, you can complete the ‘Damage car opponents’ quest by dealing a total of 600 damage to Octanes with the weapons given to you. As an Octane, you only need to hit a single Sniper to complete the ‘Eliminate sniper opponents’ quest. While Snipers will be eliminated with a single hit, players on the Octane side can exit their vehicle and enter another at the back of the arena if their Octane becomes significantly damaged.

Collect Coins and Reach Each Hardpoint at Rocketeer Ruins

In Rocketeer Ruins (Island Code: 5620-6416-3977v2), players compete to control Hardpoints (objectives) in difficult-to-reach spots. To complete the ‘Reach each Hardpoint at Rocketeer Ruins’ quest, you need to touch Hardpoints A, B, C, D, and E once each. Only one Hardpoint is active at a time, with a colored directional arrow leading you to the current objective. If you were unable to touch a Hardpoint before it changed, you will need to wait until it becomes active again.

There are also coins spread throughout the arena, which require intricate parkour to reach. You will need to collect 8 of these coins to complete the ‘Collect coins at Rocketeer Ruins‘ quest. Rocketeer Ruins quests are the trickiest High Octane quests to complete by far, as both quests require complex maneuvers while other players are actively attempting to sabotage you. Thankfully, the Octane Bonus Goals only require a total of 8 quests completed, which means these quests can be safely skipped if you have completed the others.

Complete Laps and a Lap in Under 2 Minutes 30 Seconds in Octane Race

As the name suggests, Octane Race (Island Code: 3847-7344-8745v18), involves racing an Octane around a track, although this one is filled with obstacles only an Octane could maneuver around. Change your game privacy to private before entering Octane Race, as players that complete the all laps before you will cause the game to restart. Make your way around the track twice to complete the ‘Complete laps in Octane Race‘ quest, but make sure to hit every checkpoint, as skipping even a single one won’t count as a full lap. Completing a lap in under 2 minutes 30 seconds is a difficult task, however, learning the map, utilizing the Octane’s boost, hitting the free boost rings, and replenishing your boost with orbs will all improve your chances of breaking the target time.

Octane Bonus Goals Rewards

There are a number of exclusive cosmetic awards for completing High Octane quests in Fortnite, which will only be available to earn before this event ends on December 3 2022, the same date as the Fortnite Fracture live event, with Chapter 4 following soon after. Completing all Octane Bonus Goals will also earn you rewards in Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe.

Completing 2 High Octane quests in Fortnite will earn you the Shot in Flight Emoticon and Aerial Assist edit style for the Back Board Back Bling, as well as the Back Bling itself if not already owned.

Completing 4 High Octane quests will earn you the Octane Smash Spray and ‘Brella Beach edit style for the Back Board Back Bling.

Completing 6 High Octane quests will earn you the Battle-car Blaze edit style for the Back Board Back Bling.

Completing 8 High Octane quests will earn you the Clutch Victory Pickaxe and Fifty-Fifty edit style for the Back Board Back Bling. You will also unlock the following items in Rocket League and Rocket League: Sideswipe: Whiplash Car, Whiplash Wheels, Flames Decal, Stripes Decal, Wings Decal, and Lightning Decal.

When Blue Protocol was announced in 2019, it had a lot going for it. Originally called Project Sky Blue, this was going to be an anime MMO action RPG that would be similar to the likes of other games like Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy. However, the status of the game’s development went quiet for a bit. Now, we have news regarding a future release and an upcoming network test for the game. Here’s everything you need to know on how to sign up for the network testing for Blue Protocol.

How to Sign Up For the Blue Protocol Network Testing

At least right now, the game will only be on PC. This includes the network test starting early next year. So, to sign up for the test, you’re going to need a few things before even being considered. You’ll need the following:

Blue Protocol’s network test will be run only in Japan, so if you are someone outside of the region, you will most likely need to run a VPN (a Virtual Private Network). It’s highly recommended to use paid VPNs as those are more secure compared to the free ones. With the program, you’re able to change your IP to a location in Japan so that your account isn’t removed from the test.

Japanese Bandai Namco Account

Since Blue Protocol will only be available in Japan during its network test, anyone outside of the region will have to make a new Bandai Namco account registered under the Japanese version. With a VPN, your IP might be registered and verified behind the scenes to ensure that you’re actually playing (technically) within the region.

You’ll be going through the login process in Japanese, but your browser should be able to translate the web pages for you to make things easier. Changing your region may not be enough, given that certain games from BN are only under the Japanese site.

You have from now until December 13, 2022, to sign up for the closed network test. A total of 50,000 players will be selected, so you may not be guaranteed a spot. Still, 50,000 is a lot. Finally, do not expect any progress made here to be transferred into the final build as this is just a test.

Blue Protocol will begin its network test from January 14 to January 16, 2023. An announcement of its global release will be revealed during the Game Awards on December 8, 2022.

Fortnite and Rocket League have had crossover events in the past, but none quite like this. The iconic Octane has been added to Fortnite’s Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Creative modes as part of the new High Octane event. Rather than being just a simple reskin of a regular car, the Octane controls exactly as it does in Rocket League itself — it can drive up walls, flip forwards and backward, and boost at supersonic speeds. But just where can you find an Octane in Fortnite?

Where to Find an Octane in Fortnite

The Octane can be found in any of the following Fortnite locations: Chromejam Junction, Shiny Sound, Chrome Crossroads, Tainted Towers, Chonker’s Speedway, Cloudy Condos, the beach near Mighty Monument, Greasy Grove, and the large floating platform South West of the Reality Tree.

Which of these locations Octanes will spawn at will differ in each match, however, the unnamed floating platform on the Western part of the island appears to be a static spawn, meaning an Octane will appear there in every game. Any Octane found in Battle Royale or Zero Build can be used to progress the High Octane quests, which reward the player in Fortnite, Rocket League, and its mobile spin-off, Rocket League Sideswipe.

Octanes are only in Fortnite’s Battle Royale and Zero Build modes for a limited time, although they appear to be permanent additions to the game’s Creative mode. The Octane is set to be vaulted on December 3, prior to the Fortnite Fracture live event and the release of Chapter 4 shortly after.

If you would prefer to drive an Octane without the fear of it being destroyed by other players — or being eliminated before you even find one — Epic Games are currently showcasing player-made experiences featuring Rocket League’s classic car in the Discovery Menu. All game modes under the High Octane category feature the new Octane vehicle, such as Tiny Cars, Big House!, which involves the player exploring a gigantic house as an Octane with unlimited Boost. Octane Race may be more your style if you’re searching for a high thrills race with your friends, or you can put your Rocket League skills to the test in The Impossible Tower.

The story of God of War Ragnarok is a lengthy one. Depending on your playstyle, difficulty settings, and what you aim to do can either add or lessen the amount of time played. A very welcomed design feature for the game is that even if you go through the whole story without venturing off the beaten path, nothing is truly missable. After the epilogue, Beyond Ragnarok, you can travel back to previous areas.

Although you cannot replay a chapter outright, you can go back and take on additional things that took place in the areas where it happened. The standard 30 or so hours it would take for pure story content can nearly be doubled with all the other things you can do in the post-game. Even if it is mostly cleanup and getting additional lore, it’ll be a lot of bang for your buck.

As of right now, there is no New Game +. It’ll most likely be implemented at a later time like it usually is in Sony’s first-party titles. A good 50 hours is more than enough time for a good nearly completionist playthrough.

God of War Ragnarok is available now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Players can find many items in God of War Ragnarok to upgrade their weapons to their strongest form. For the Leviathan axe, you need to collect Frozen Flames, and for the Blades of Chaos, it is required to find Chaos Flame. In addition to those items, there are also Chaos Sparks scattered through the nine realms, where if you collect all of them, you can upgrade your Blades of Chaos even further. There are six Chaos Sparks available, and this guide will give you the precise location of each so you can make your Blades even stronger.

Where to Find All Chaos Sparks in God of War Ragnarok

There is a high chance that you will run into numerous of these Chaos Sparks by just playing the main story. These are the easier ones to find, but others require players to go off the main path and explore further. Each one of these spark locations will have players fighting the Hateful boss, who come from a Draugr hole. Here are all six Chaos sparks locations.

Chaos Spark Locations:

• Svartalfheim: There is a Chaos Spark located behind the Watchtower. You know you are getting close when you encounter the Hateful boss fight.

• Svartalfheim: Head to the Applecore region of this realm, where you will see rocks hanging above. Your support partner can shoot these rocks down and continue to the broken door afterward. Go through the waterfall and grapple over, where there is a door to the right. A Draugr hole is here where you need to fight the Hateful.

• Alfheim: Head towards the west side of The Barrens. Here you will notice a shrine-like structure made of rocks. You will encounter another Draugr hole. Fight the Hateful to claim the Chaos Spark.

• Vanaheim: The Draugr hole can be found after completing the crane puzzle in the Abandoned Village. Go northwest and cross over the bridge. Through the waterfall, you will encounter another Draugr hole. 

• Midgard: Northeast of Lake of Nine, you will find another Draugr hole underneath a cave-like structure. Like before, kill the Hateful and claim the Chaos Spark.

• Vanaheim: Northeast of the Plains region of the realm, you will find the final Draugr hole. This area can only be reached by boat, so you must raise the river through the Return of the River favor.

Now you can turn those Chaos Sparks into the shop to upgrade your Blades of Chaos to a stronger form. While exploring these realms for these items, keep an eye out for treasure maps that can lead you to rare resources for crafting the best armor sets in the game!

Ship of Fools is an upcoming indie game that people, especially people who love couch co-op, shouldn’t sleep on. For single and multiplayer, Ship of Fools has a lot to offer, but does it have cross play and cross progression? Here’s your answer.

Cross Play and Cross Progression Explained in Ship of Fools

The short answer is no, Ship of Fools does not currently have cross play or cross progression. Cross play, if you don’t know, is whether or not a game can play online with other consoles. Cross progression, if you don’t know, is whether or not a game can carry over your saved progress onto a different platform.

Though cross play and cross progression aren’t currently in Ship of Fools it does not mean those features will never be in the game. Fika Productions, the development team behind Ship of Fools, is dedicated to beefing Ship of Fools up even after launch. Ship of Fools will be a mini live-service indie game which means that new content and new features will be introduced into the game incrementally after launch.

Since Ship of Fools is launching onto many platforms, it is sad to see the game not initially have cross play. Though Ship of Fools is playable and enjoyable solo, it really shines when playing online or couch co-op. for example, it is a shame that a PlayStation player can’t play together with a PC player. We hope to see cross play make it to Ship of Fools soon.

Though cross progression isn’t as important as cross play in a game like Ship of Fools, it would be nice to see that feature. If you really love Ship of Fools and want to play it on multiple consoles, you’ll need to have separate saves for each console.

As we said, these features could get introduced into the game later, but at launch, Ship of Fools will not have cross play or cross progression.

Ship of Fools will be available November 22, 2022, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

There are a total of twenty Bobbleheads in Fallout 4. Here are all their locations, plus a brief description of what is required of you to obtain them.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Bobbleheads

There is one Bobblehead for each of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat. Therefore, you can level your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats to eleven if they are already at ten when you collect them.

Strength

You will find the Strength Bobblehead inside the Mass Fusion Building. It is located on a statue which is found on the top floor of the building. You can complete this quest without being on specific quests for the Institue or the Brotherhood.

Perception

You will find the Perception Bobblehead at the Museum of Freedom in the same room as Preston Garvey on a desk with a broken terminal.

Endurance

You will find the Endurance Bobblehead on the roof of the Poseidon Energy building, guarded by Cutty and his goons. Kill them, and you will find the Bobblehead in the office they came out of.

Charisma

You will find the Charisma Bobblehead at the Parsons State Insane Asylum. You must obtain The Secret of the Cabot House sidequest before accessing the Aslyum for this Bobblehead in Jack Cabot’s office.

Intelligence

You will find the Intelligence Bobblehead in the Boston Public Library mechanical room on the second floor.

Agility

You will find the Agility Bobblehead in the upper room of the Wreck of the F.M.S. Northern Star. You will find it sitting on a wooden shelf.

Luck

You will find the Luck Bobblehead inside a locker in a green tugboat on the southern part of Spectacle Island. Spectacle Island is a possible settlement location for you as well.

Skill Bobbleheads

Thirteen additional Bobbleheads provide boosts to your weapon and skill traits.

Barter

You will find the Barter Bobblehead in an office at the north part of Longneck Lukowski’s Cannery. It is, unfortunately, locked behind either a master-level door or dialogue between Rylee and Theodore Collins.

Big Guns

You will find the Big Guns Bobblehead inside a bedroom located in Vault 95. Head past the lavatory sign and pass through a few broken walls. You will find it on a radio in a bedroom in the northern residential sector.

Energy Weapons

You will find the Energy Weapons Bobblehead in between two fridges of Fort Hagen’s kitchen. You will need to complete the Reunions quest before you can access this area.

Explosives

You will find the Explosives Bobblehead in the blast furnace room of Saugus Ironworks. You will need to defeat Slag and his group of Forged, as it is located in this same room.

Lock Picking

You will find the Lock Picking Bobblehead in the tunnels underneath the Pickman Gallery. The Bobblehead is next to a flaming barrel in the same room as Pickman and his goons.

Medicine

You will find the Medicine Bobblehead in Curie’s laboratory at Vault 81. You will need to obtain the Hole in the Wall quest from Penske before accessing Vault 81.

Melee

You will find the Melee Bobblehead on the top floor of Trinity Tower, where Rex Goodman is being held captive. Be warned, as there are a ton of super mutants here.

Repair

You will find the Repair Bobblehead at the end of the tallest walkway in the Corvega Assembly Plant. This walkway surrounds the Corvega blue tank.

Science

How to Move the Fallen Pillar at the Shrine of Tyr in God of War Ragnarok

For this obstacle, you won’t need the tool used to deal with the yellow cracks, you’ll need to use the Blades of Chaos. As you approach the Shrine of Tyr in Midgard, you’ll come across some structural damage thanks to Fimbulwinter.

To move the fallen pillar blocking your way to the Shrine of Tyr in God of War Ragnarok, get close to the pillar, look at the red part of it (you’ll see a button indicator with a Blade of Chaos next to it), press the circle button, and push the left analog stick to the left.

If you follow this, you’ll attach a blade to the pillar and swing it out of the way. You are now able to jump across the gap with Atreus. As you continue up, another gap will be placed before you.

To continue, look down and to the right. When you see the same circle button indicator with a Chaos Blade next to it, press the button and swing the fallen pillar to the right. And just like that, you can use the fallen pillar to get across.

Further into the Shrine of Tyr, you’ll come across another fallen pillar blocking your way (Fimbulwinter really did a number on the architecture here). To continue, you’ll need to use your Leviathan Axe to break the tree first, and then use the Blades of Chaos to move the pillar as you’ve done so far.

And that is how to get past all of the fallen pillars blocking your way to the Shrine of Tyr. As you continue forward through the story, you may need some help with the treasure locations.

In order to begin preloading the game all you will have to do is make your way to your respective platform’s storefront and search for Call of Duty Warzone 2. Although on Steam it will already be preloaded for you if you have Modern Warfare II already.

Just like its predecessor in 2018, God of War Ragnarok has treasure hunts to keep players busy for quite some time during and after the story. While players can find most of the treasure maps and the treasure itself in the same realm, the Demise of Dagestr is different, where players will need to go to two separate locations. How to Find the Demise of Dagestr Treasure

Players will find the treasure map in Svartalfheim, shown in the image below. Go down the elevator at the location.

Head down the pathway until you see a crack in the wall with wind coming out of it. Use your spear in the crack, climb to the top, and find the treasure map there. Pick it up to activate the quest.

Now you must proceed back to a gate, where you must fast-travel to Midgard. The treasure is located on the northwestern side of Lake of Nine (image below for reference.) Before you can reach it, you must destroy an ice wall with your spear. There will be a crack in the ice, which is hard to miss.

Continue down to the end of the path, where you will find a glowing circle in the ground. Hit the circle button to collect the treasure.

The reward for completing this treasure hunt is as follows:

• x40 Shattered Rune
• x2 Petrified Bone
• x2 Luminous Alloy
• 1x Helheims Force Amulet Enchantment

To complete 100 percent of God of War Ragnarok, you must do some treasure hunting. Through all nine realms, treasure maps can be found that provide a picture as a clue leading you to an area where you can find the treasure. The rewards are worth it as they can be rare resources to help with your crafting needs for armor and weapons. This guide will walk you through the Forgotten Tower treasure location in Alfheim.

Where to Find the Forgotten Tower Treasure

It is important to note that players can only access this treasure map if the Secret of the Sands quest has been completed. If this quest is not taken care of, the sandstorm will block the door to access this area. Check out our guide for the Secret of the Sands quest first, and then come back here to find the treasure.

Now that the Secret of the Sands quest is done, you will want to make your way to the Forbidden Sands location through the door to the west. Check out the image below for your reference.

Players can find the map inside a building on the upper level. It will be located on a shelf to the right.

Make your way out of the building, and you will be challenged by a boss preventing you from leaving. Battle and kill the enemy and continue out of the building.

Now continue northwest to the location shown below. Here you will find grapples, which you want to use your Blades of Chaos to get onto the top level. There will be enemies here, so be ready to fight.

To the left of the enormous platform, you will find the treasure. It is hard to miss as it is glowing. Walk up to it and hit the circle button to collect the reward.

The reward for completing this treasure hunt is as follows:

God of War Ragnarok features tons of end-game content to keep fans busy after beating the main story. Some of this end-game content requires collectibles, such as collecting ravens and hunting down treasure maps, along with its rewards. With no clues given to the players, it can be challenging to find these maps without just having good luck and running into them on your path. Alfheim has a treasure called A Scar is Born, which is pretty well hidden, so this guide will help you find it.

Where to Find A Scar is Born Treasure

This treasure is located in Vanaheim. It is important to note that there is no way to reach this treasure map unless the favor “Return of the River” is completed. This will bring back the water to the area, allowing Kratos to use his boat and reach islands he could not previously access.

Once you have the river raised, you will want to go to the location shown in the image below, located in The Plains. You can tell you are at the right location if you see a Yggdrasil Rift in the middle of the land.

On the island, the treasure map will be to the left in the corner. Go ahead and pick it up to activate the treasure hunt.

Now head back to the mainland that leads towards the Sinkholes. The specific location is shown on the map below.

You will see some archways in the ground, and the treasure is to the right on your way down. It will be glowing, which makes it pretty difficult to miss.

Picking up this treasure will reward you with the following items:

• x4 Petrified Bone

Given the fact it inflicts 80 damage with medium-speed attacks, it can be a great weapon against foes.

However, it even poisons enemies which makes it stand out in front of the pack. Solving this puzzle will earn you two different achievements, additional dialogue check options, and evidence for convicting one of the murder suspects. Here is everything you need to know to solve the volvelle puzzle.

How to Solve the Vovelle Puzzle in Pentiment

There are a handful of ways you can solve the Vovelle Puzzle. Each solution will be determined by your choices in-game, like the background you chose. Some of these steps are missable, and you must complete this by Act 1 because it provides evidence of one of the murder suspects. I will provide you with each possible way to solve this puzzle so you can do so regardless of your choices.

Investigate the Cellar

You can access the cellar immediately after you arrive at the abbey for the first time in the game. Head to the Church, and you will find the door to the cellar next to Father Mathieu. Once inside, you will want to head to the right until you come to a statue of a virgin mother with a child.

Look at the statue by using the Investigate icon. Move your mouse cursor around until it touches the key that the baby is holding. The pointer will turn red when you have touched it correctly. The statue will slide into the wall revealing a secret entrance into the Library. There is nothing more for you to do with this entrance for now.

Volvelle

The next step is finding the volvelle. Before you head into the scriptorium, head to the Prior House in Old Bailey, and inspect the round item with four colors and constellations. That is all you can do with it for now. Go ahead and head into the scriptorium now.

Prior Ferenc’s Book

After dialogue with the fellow monks, you will see Prior Ference enter the room and quickly write something in a book. You will need to help Illuminata with collecting books before you can investigate. Once you do investigate the book and you will find the key to the cipher written. Head back to the volvelle.

How Your Choices Affect the Rest of the Puzzle

If you took the Heavens and Earth background, you could skip down to the next section because you can solve the puzzle with no additional step needed. Otherwise, you must either talk to Werner or sneak into the Library at night.

Talk to Werner

You can talk to Werner, who lives in North Town. He will explain how constellations work and provide you with the last part of the clue to solve the cipher.

Sneak Into The Library

On the second night before going to bed, you can sneak into the Library using the secret entrance in the cellar. On the Library’s second level, you will find a book on a podium. The book will explain how constellations work and provide the final clue you need.

Let’s Solve it!

Now that you have the key, you can solve the volvelle puzzle. First, you need to rotate the wheel so the matching color lines up with the upside-down triangle. After that, match the color’s symbol to find the appropriate letter. Do this for all four colors until you achieve the word in the picture above. After you solve the volvelle, you do not need to do anything else for this puzzle. You have earned every possible achievement for doing so. However, the clue it leads to is important for other aspects of the game.

What’s Next?

The volvelle will lead you to Brother Gerhard’s grave in the abbey’s cemetery. This will be important later in the game if you investigate a specific character. Here is a hint if you choose this path: come back the next day and investigate the grave again to progress this branch of clues.

Are you wondering how to pass every dialogue check from Act 1 in Pentiment? Dialogue checks are extremely hard to pass because you only get one shot at the answer unless you quickly reload an old save file and try again. If you fail to answer correctly, the NPC will not be persuaded to whatever goal you currently trying to accomplish. A failure will prevent certain actions or you from learning important information. You will know an answer you give is part of a dialogue check when you see the phrase: “This will be remembered.”

How to Pass Every Dialogue Check from Act 1 in Pentiment

Here is every dialogue check from Act 1 with the correct responses. I tried to get you the correct responses without using a specific Background, but sometimes it is easier to use a response based on your Background than not. I have noted when this is the case.

Act 1

Persuade Illuminata:

• Offered to help Illuminata enthusiastically.
• Asked forgiveness for keeping books.

You will earn an achievement for completing this dialogue check.

Earn a Friendly Greeting From Martin:

• Told Martin not to work too hard.
• Invited Martin to supper with the boys.

This is one of the hardest dialogue checks, as none of your responses seem like they would be appropriate.

Earn Lorenz Rothvogel’s favor:

• Acted honored at Lorenz’s invitation to walk with him.
• Expressed fascination with Luther’s ideas.
• You were enthusiastic about sharing occult lore (Occult Background)
• Addressed the baron respectfully
• Engaged Lorenz in a debate at dinner

You will earn a pin that you can equip. This pin follows you into the next act, so it is a cool visual change to your character. Note that the biggest way to pass this dialogue check is by engaging Lorenz in a dinner debate. You don’t need the Occult Background to pass as long as you debate him.

Persuade Lucky:

• Orator Background (Orator Background)
• Didn’t hassle Lucky about his fight with Lorenz

Passing this dialogue check will get Lucky to invite you to dinner, and you will learn about the “innocents” clue for use as evidence.

Persuade Gernot:

• Convinced Gernot you left abbey alone
• Don’t engage Lorenz in a debate

If you pass this dialogue check, Gernot will permit you to dig up the grave.

Persuade Mathieu

• You can only pass this option if you see Mathieu’s steamy scene in the library after you sneak in at night for the Volvelle puzzle.

If you pass this dialogue check, Mathieu will not run and tattle on you to the abbey for digging up the grave.

These choices can range from dialogue checks to finding evidence to unlocking new areas. One potentially frustrating aspect is the inability to replay a particular action repeatedly if you do not like the result, want to see what happens, or are achievement hunting. The good news is you can load old saves. The bad news is you only have a small window to reload a game, and you cannot go back further than the available saves. Here is how you load old saves with the game’s auto save feature.

How to Load Old Saves in Pentiment

Pentiment uses an auto save feature that triggers after every dialogue interaction when you navigate to a new scene, find evidence, or sleep for the day. It auto saves a lot, but unfortunately, you can only access the last seven save files including the one with your current progress. This means you only have six slots available to reload from. So while it is possible to load an old save, you have to do it quickly. Otherwise, you risk overwriting the save file you want to load.

New Game Menu

The option to load an old save is hidden in an area you wouldn’t necessarily think to look at (which the developers may have done on purpose). Here is how you access the Old Saves menu:

1. From the main menu screen, select new game (don’t worry, this won’t overwrite any save files)
2. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a few options, one of them being Old Saves
3. Move your cursor to the save slot you are currently playing on and select the Old Saves option
4. This will open up the Old Saves Menu and show you the last seven available saves

Once the Old Saves menu is loaded, you will gain access to the last seven auto saves the game made, starting with the most recent. The top option will always be the most current save file. You can pick any of these to load by moving your cursor to the save and selecting the Load Game function.

REMINDER: Remember that you can only reload the last seven save files. This means you have to reload the game immediately, as you cannot reload to a previous point in the game. For instance, you cannot reload a save file from Act 1 while in Act 3.

If you find these systems too much, get sick of them after a while, or want the standard text to save time for additional playthroughs, you can use another system the developers created called Easy Read. How to Disable Stylized Text and Writing Effects in Pentiment

The developers modeled Pentiment’s dialogue system after early print, woodcuts at the transition, and medieval manuscripts from the late medieval to early modern art eras. Instead of basic text dialogue, the text you read will be influenced by several factors in-game. If this proves too much, you can customize how you see the text without being punished. The developers want you to enjoy the game as you see fit, so they have provided you with many customization options.

Start of New Game

You can enable the Easy Read system when you click the New Game option from the Main Menu screen. This will change the Stylized Fonts to use the Easy Read fonts instead. If you want to customize further how your dialogue looks, make sure to access the in-game Settings Menu.

Are you wondering where to find all the pets in Pentiment and what they are for? Exploration and interaction play a huge part in Pentiment. You can interact with characters, objects, flowers, and even the pets of your favorite Tassing residents. You will see Tassings’ pets throughout the three Acts, just like their owners. Show some love to the pets and earn an achievement in the process.

All 11 Pet Locations in Pentiment

Pets are spread throughout the town of Tassing and in the Kiersau Abbey. You will know you can pet the animals as an Investigation icon will appear on them when you are close enough. When you interact with them, you will see a short in-game cutscene that is super adorable.

How Do You Earn The Achievement?

To earn the ‘A Regular Saint Francis’ achievement, you must pet five pets by interacting with them. However, you do not have to pet five pets in order, so if you have already progressed the game, you can still earn this achievement as long as you still have access to five pets. I have provided you with all pet locations throughout the game in all three acts.

Note: The same pets inhabit different acts, but their locations change. This is what the game records when interacting with a “new” pet. Interacting with the same pet repeatedly will not trigger the achievement.

Where to Find All Plant Locations in Pentiment

Plants are spread throughout the town of Tassing and in the Kiersau Abbey. You will know you can smell a flower as an Investigation icon will appear on them when you are close enough. When you interact with them, you will get in-game text explaining the type of flower and its uses. This explanation will change based on the backgrounds you choose.

How Do You Earn The Achievement?

To earn the Smell the Roses achievement, you must smell ten flowers by interacting with them. However, you do not have to smell all flowers in order, so if you have already progressed the game, you can still earn this achievement as long as you still have access to ten total flowers. I have provided you with all flower locations for every Act.

Note: The same flowers inhabit different all three Acts, but their locations change. This is what the game records when interacting with a “new” flower. Interacting with the same flower repeatedly will not trigger the achievement.

What Background Should You Choose in Pentiment?

Your chosen backgrounds will influence the available dialogue choices, how you can interact with certain items like books, and the overall story in the game. You cannot change your chosen backgrounds, so make 100% certain you are happy with your choices. I will provide you with my thoughts on the usefulness of each background, but this shouldn’t be the final word. Depending on how you want the story to progress and what you think is most important is what matters.

Act 1

After leaving Gertner’s house, you will pick your first set of background options in your first interaction with Big Jorg.

You need to pick where you spent your Wanderjahre:

• Basel: I found this background to be the least useful of the three, but it will still work if you pick it.
• Flanders: I was able to use Flanders to understand a decent amount of the game. You can understand several translations in a couple of languages.
• Italy: I found this to be the most useful location for your Wanderjahre. Since Tassing is located in the Roman Empire, it has the most use with the various residents and visitors.

You need to pick what your hobbies during Wanderjhre were:

• Hedonist: If you want to flirt with the residents of Tassing and see some wickedly funny moments with the nuns at the abbey, I would suggest picking this background.
• Craftsman: Craftsman lets you analyze the different works of art and structures in the game. It opens up some good dialogue choices since art is another main theme of Pentiment.
• Bookworm: This background helps you connect with the more royal NPCs and some of the abbey folks. Most of the peasants do not know how to read, though.
• Rapscallion: This is another background to pick if you want to see some funny moments in the game. You can get yourself into trouble with it as well.
• Businessman: I didn’t see many positives or negatives with this background.

While traveling to the Scriptorium, you will pick your second set of backgrounds during your talk with Baron Lorenz.

You need to pick what you studied during university:

• Theology: This background helps you relate to all of the residents since religion is such a huge theme of the game.
• Imperial Law: I found this background didn’t help as much as you would think and caused more annoyance with NPCs.
• Medicine: This opens up a lot of dialogue choices but doesn’t change much of the story.

You need to pick your two favorite subjects during university:

• Latinist: This background helps you understand and read different books, sayings, and paintings
• Logician: The background helps you understand complex puzzles and topics throughout the game.
• Orator: The Orator background helps the most with dialogue checks as most NPCs respect it and will give a big positive boost towards passing.
• Occultist: This is one of my favorites because it unlocks some great flavor to the game, though it is wholly unnecessary.
• Heavens and Earth: This is the best background I found during my playthroughs. It allows you to solve the Volvelle puzzle in one go and has the most positive dialogue results.

I found the following background choices for Act 1 the most beneficial:

• Italy
• Bookworm
• Latinist
• Heavens and Earth

Act 2

You will pick one background that details how you spent the last seven years away from Tassing.

The country you did all of your work in is:

• Poland
• England
• France
• Aragon

Your choice of country provides you with more language knowledge. Act 2 has several options for speaking with visitors and investigating the murder. I’ve found that England and France were the two most beneficial.

Act 3

You will pick your last three backgrounds at the start of Act 3 while talking to the twins.

You need to pick your specialty is:

• Polyglot: You will be a jack of all trades and a master of none regarding your ability to read different languages. You will need to make certain choices to get help from others if this is chosen.
• Volksbucher: You will be able to relate more to the townsfolk of Tassing, which plays an important part in Act 3.
• Reformation:

You need to pick your personality traits:

• Barbs: I found this put up too many walls with NPCs, then broke down.
• Flirt: This is another flavor background. Without spoiling too much of the story, you can flirt and have funny moments with the other half of Tassing’s population.
• Haggle: this is by far the second most useful background, as I could unlock a handful of dialogue checks and achievements using it.
• Snoop: With being a murder mystery, I thought snooping would be a good background, but Act 3 isn’t so much about investigating as the other Acts.

You need to pick your skills:

• Tinker: I thought this background would be cooler than what it ended up being. It has its uses, but there are alternatives, so it is unnecessary.
• Domestics: You will struggle with your purpose during Act 3, and this will determine what path you will go down.
• Bookkeeping: This helps with some dialogue options but is the least useful of the three options overall.

I found the following background choices for Act 3 the most beneficial:

• Polyglot
• Haggle
• Domestics

Like the Valkyries in God of War (2018), the endgame mini-bosses in God of War Ragnarok are the Berserkers. Though there still is an endgame Valkyrie to defeat, there are 10 Berserkers to hunt down and slay.

To start your Berserker hunt, you’ll need to get the Fit for a King Favor quest at King’s Grave in Midgard. Once you have received the hilt, you’ll be able to see multiple Berserker Gravestone locations across all nine realms. These mini-bosses are extremely tough, so be sure to have the best armor and have a Resurrection Stone handy.

All Berserker Gravestone Locations in God of War Ragnarok

Before hunting down all 10 Berserker Gravestones, you need to know the strategy to defeat them. Each Berserker attacks a bit differently, but each one of them has about five or six attacks that they do repeatedly. Once you know the pattern of the attacks, you’ll know when to dodge, when to block, when to attack, and when to shield bash.

As a reward for defeating the Berserker bosses, you’ll receive pommels for your Chaos Blades, grips for the Leviathan Axe, Chaos Flames, Frozen Flames, armor, runes, and resources like Tempered Remnants, Shattered Runes, and Bonded Leather.

Midgard – Lake of the Nine

In Midgard, the Berserker Gravestone is found on the north end of the Lake of the Nine. It is next to Shores of Nine on the map. This boss is Fraekni the Zealous and once he is defeated, you’ll get the Berserker Waist Guard and some resources.

Svartalfheim – Jarnsmida Pitmines

For this Berserker Gravestone, you’ll need to venture back into the mines of Svartalfheim. It is extremely easy to get lost in here, so open your map and pin the Berserker Gravestone location. If you do that, you’ll always be directed exactly where to go on your compass.

There are two bosses in this location and they are called Starolfr the Troublesome and Bodvar the Fierce. You’ll have to fight both of them at once which is difficult, but if you survive, you’ll get Hind of the Nine Realms and some resources.

Svartalfheim – Alberich Island

Alberich Island is at the northernmost part of Bay of Bounty. Simply dock your boat and prepare for a fight. You’ll face Beigadr the Feared and you’ll receive Asgard’s Might and some resources.

Svartalfheim – Myrkr Tunnels

Directly next to the Myrkr Tunnels and west of Nidavellir, you’ll find this Berserker Gravestone. After fighting Hardrefill the Callous, you’ll receive Asgard’s Fortitude and some resources.

Vanaheim – Pilgrim’s Landing

In Vanaheim, at the Pilgrim’s Landing boat dock, you’ll find Hvitserkr the Bold. Defeating him will give you the Pommels of the Nine Realms and some resources.

Vanaheim – The Sinkholes

After discovering The Crater in Vanaheim, make your way east. After collecting the Bantam Melon, you’ll see the Berserker Gravestone and fight Haklangr the Bearded. If you win, you’ll get a Chaos Flame and, you guessed it, some resources.

Alfheim – The Barrens

In the eastmost part of The Barrons, the first explorable sand dune in Alfheim, you’ll find the Berserker Gravestone for Svipdagr the Cold and the two Sisters of Illska. This is definitely one of the hardest Berserker fights.

To win it, focus on defeating the sisters first. Though you’ll need to dodge Svipdagr the Cold when he gets close, with the sisters gone, you can focus on the main Berserker. If you manage to win the battle, you’ll receive a Frozen Flame and some resources.

Alfheim – The Forbidden Sands

In the southmost part of The Forbidden Sands, the second explorable sand dune in Alheim, you’ll find this Berserker Gravestone. You’ll need to solve a puzzle to access this Berserker Gravestone. The Berserker is called Hjalti the Stolid and with him dead, you’ll get the Grip of the Nine Realms and some resources.

Niflheim – Mist Fields

To get this Berserker Gravestone, you need to open your map and scroll over to the Mist Fields. Fast Travel over there and find the gravestone on the southwesternmost part of the area. Defeat Skjothendi the Unerring and you’ll get the Berserker Gauntlets and some resources.

Midgard – King’s Grave

Finally, with all of the Berserkers dead, you’ll face the final Berserker boss. His name is King Hrolf and he is extremely difficult to beat. Have patience, apply the dodging and blocking patterns you learned with the Berserkers previously, and you’ll defeat him.

When you win, you’ll receive the Hilt of Skofung, which is the best relic in the game. You’ll also get Helheim’s Virtue and the Grave Mistake trophy.

And just like that, you’ve found all Berserker Gravestones, defeated all of the Berserkers, and are ready for your next adventure.

First of all, in order to trigger the favor you will need to travel to Noatun’s Garden, where you will be able to trigger the quest by talking to an NPC named Astrid. You will only be able to interact with her after clearing all the enemies. It’s important to point out that the area also features one of the chests featuring one of the pieces needed to craft one of the best armor sets in the game.

Once you talk to her, you will be tasked with clearing the area’s poisoned spots, a feat you can do by first heading to the area’s eastmost poisoned point. Once there, circulate back and go behind the totem. Once there, you will be able to see an explosive pot, like in the image below. To clear out the first source of the poison, all you need to do is hit it.

After destroying the first one, head to the poison source located directly behind Astrid. Once there, go left of it to a small opening, where you will be able to have a clear view of the explosive pot inside the construction. To destroy the poisoned totem, just throw a weapon at the pot.

Last but not least, you can destroy the final one by climbing the wall located east of the Troll statues. Once up there, just focus on the northmost poisoned area and hit the lock keeping the flammable pot above the ground, as in the image below. Once you do that, just go down and talk to Astrid to complete the favor.

How to Kill the Crimson Dread Dragon Boss

The fight will start with the dragon using its mouth to land hits on Kratos. These are powerful and quick, so make sure you block or dodge, depending on the circle’s color. For example, if you see red, make sure to dodge; if it is yellow, players can block or parry that attack. If you see the dragon lift its head, then sprint out of the way as it is getting ready to spew the battlefield with fire that covers a lot of ground. Fire will slowly drain your health bar, so avoid this at all costs.

Once you have dodged all the dragon’s attacks, find a proper time to attack with your weapon and have your support partner fire arrows down on him. Attack the dragon enough, and he will launch himself into the air, ready to rain down fire from above.

As the dragon flies over your head, you need to throw your Leviathan axe directly at the beast, knocking it to the floor. This will stun the dragon for some time, where you can go ahead and spam the attack button draining its health as much as possible. Once Crimson is back on its feet, the process will start over, and he will continue with his bite attacks that you need to dodge.

Hit him as much as possible, getting to the point where he flies above the field once again, and knock him down with your Leviathan axe. Keep doing this until you have successfully drained his health bar, and then finish him off with the R3 button. Be ready as the game will have you mash the O button, for one final blow to the dragon.

Nice work! The Crimson Dread is dead, and you can now pick up all the loot the beast dropped. Defeating all the bosses you encounter in God of War Ragnarok is essential in creating the strongest form of Kratos possible. After only four seasons, Fortnite Chapter 3 is set to come to a close with the Fortnite Fracture live event on December 3. Instead of launching Chapter 3, Season 5 as previously presumed, Fortnite will instead be transitioning straight into Chapter 4, Season 1.

But when will Fortnite Chapter 4 be released? What will be different? Will there be a new island? Luckily for you, we’ve compiled everything we know about Chapter 4 into this handy guide to answer all of your burning questions.

When Will Fortnite Chapter 4 Be Released?

While not officially confirmed, Fortnite Chapter 4 will likely launch on December 4, 2022. This is because the Chapter 3 live Finale event, Fortnite Fracture, will take place on December 3. Traditionally, Fortnite chapters conclude with a dramatic live event before the game temporarily goes offline for downtime. In Chapter 2’s case, the game went into an unplayable period for around 13 hours, with Chapter 3 becoming playable early in the morning the next day.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Gameplay Changes

A number of discoveries from prolific Fortnite leaker HYPEX suggest that Epic Games have been working on new gameplay features over the summer that may be released in Chapter 4. The first of which is a first-person mode, which could completely transform Fortnite’s gameplay options, much like the highly praised Zero Build mode, and help it to compete with other popular Battle Royale games, such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends — both of which being in first-person. Two-seater motorcycles are reportedly also in the works, along with rideable skateboards that rely heavily on physics, like the recently-introduced sliding mechanic.

Will Fortnite Chapter 4 Have a New Map?

It is unknown whether Fortnite Chapter 4 will introduce a new map or not, but it is likely, as each Chapter so far has had its own island. Fortnite Chapter 1 had its island destroyed and replaced entirely at the start of Chapter 3, while the end of Chapter 2 had the island flipped upside down to reveal a brand-new one underneath. We’ll have to wait and see what entails in the Fortnite Fracture live event for a definitive answer, but the event’s title alone doesn’t inspire hope that the current island will endure.

Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 Battle Pass

Chapter 4, Season 1’s Battle Pass has yet to be revealed, however, concept art may have given us a sneak peek at what is to come. Occasionally, Epic Games will send select players a survey that requests feedback on concept art of Outfits (skins) that can potentially be released in-game. Many of these Outfits — dubbed ‘survey skins’ by the community — in the past have eventually been released, with a recent example being Meow Skulls, a Chapter 3, Season 4 Battle Pass Outfit detailed in a concept art weeks prior to the season’s launch.

Many of the recent survey skins, pictured above, feature impressive designs, such as a low-polygon Jonesy, akin to the models used in early PlayStation titles. Another intriguing outfit is what appears to be a young version of Geno, Fortnite’s main ‘villain-behind-the-scenes’ that has been mentioned several times throughout the years but has yet to physically appear in-game. Now that Geno’s appearance has finally been revealed in the final issue of Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War, Epic Games should have no problem releasing Geno as a skin in Chapter 4.

Like its predecessor, God of War Ragnarok boasts challenging bosses that will have you dying quite frequently. These bosses can be made easier by crafting the best armor sets, collecting Idunn Apples, or mastering your playstyle combat. Toward the end of the game, players will encounter the Flame Phantom, which players can’t kill unless they find a hidden pillar. This guide will help stop the struggle and walk you through how to quickly kill this Flame Phantom so you can progress further into the end game.

Strategy to Kill the Flame Phantom

This fight is similar to the Frost Phantom players encountered earlier in the main story. The same premise is present here: you must destroy three pillars to damage the boss. This time is trickier, as the last pillar is hidden but continue reading, and we will explain how to find it.

Find the Third Pillar First

The first thing you want to do when the boss fight begins is to go over to the left of the area, where you will see a crack in the wall. Throw your spear at this crack, and use your exploding ability to reveal a pillar you will need to destroy later.

Stun the Flame Phantom

Now, to attack the Flame Phantom, you will want to utilize Atreus Sigil arrows as much as possible while also attacking the glowing orb with Kratos. Dodge and block his attacks when you see the red and yellow circle accordingly and find an opening to attack when you feel the moment is right. The goal is to fill the meter under the Phantom’s health bar, and once it is filled, the enemy will be stunned to the floor.

When the enemy is stunned, you want to run over to one of the pillars and destroy it with one of your weapons. Destroying each will significantly damage the Phantom’s health bar, and if you are quick enough, you could destroy two pillars before the enemy gets back up.

Once the enemy is up, you will want to repeat the process until you have officially destroyed all three pillars. After beating the pillars, hit R3 on the Flame Phantom to have Kratos finish the beast, officially killing it.

God of War Ragnarok puts Kratos face to face with another wide array of Norse Gods, which of course includes Odin’s right hand and the God of Foresight Heimdall. But how can you defeat him? Now, to answer that and more, here’s how to defeat Heimdall in God of War Ragnarok.

How to Defeat Heimdall in God of War Ragnarok

Best Armor and Enchantments

Taking into account the number of armor sets available at this stage of the game, we recommend the use of the full Lunda Armor and at least three LUCK-focused enchantments. While in the fight, we recommend that you let both the Blades and the Axe aside and go bare-handed, as you will be able to deal considerably more damage that way, mainly thanks to the passives of the full armor set. We used this build to defeat him on Give Me God of War difficulty.

Phase 1

In the first phase of the fight, you will be tasked with defeating Heimdall’s mount, Gulltopir. To do that, we recommend that you focus on staying close and hitting the enemy as much as possible. Staying close is the best strategy as the mount’s Red charges will be easy to dodge, while his buildups will be easy to shield break. Overall, only create distance and dodge away when Heimdall decides to use AoE or range Bifrost attacks.

Once you defeat Gulltopir, Heimdall will come down and the second phase, as well as the actual fight, will begin.

Phase 2

To complete the second phase, you will need to fill Heimdall’s stun bar 3 times. In order to do that, take on Draupnir and throw at him. He will grab the spear, allowing you to blow it up and fully stun him for the first time. After that, he will block the trows towards the ground but if you blow up up the spear immediately after, he will still take the stun. After two trows, the bar will be filled again and you will be able to once again press R3.

Now things will get a little more complicated, as he will begin to dash across the field and use Bifrost projectiles. To stun him for the third time, place the spears at his feet or in front of him and then detonate them as he gets closer, all while staying alert for his blockable dashes and sword strikes. After about three explosions, he will be stunned again. After interacting with him, the third phase will begin.

Phase 3

During the third phase, Heimdall will add Realm-shift to his arsenal, thus allowing him to slow down time. As the shifts will make you vulnerable, we highly recommend that you take on a reactive approach and only attack when the opening to dodge or parry presents itself. After dodging or parrying his attacks while either in or off the shifts, Heimdall will be open for punishment.

After losing about 1/4 pg his health, Heimdall will cover himself in armor. To destroy it, you just need to attack him with Draupnir. Once the armor breaks, shift back to bare-handed mode and continue the fight. After losing another 1/3, he will once again dom the armor. But you already know how to deal with that so no point in explaining it again. Once his health bar is completely depleted, press R3 to enter the fourth and final phase of the fight.

Phase 4

In the final phase, Heimdall will become viciously aggressive by making use of melee combos, a dashing drab/punch, three unblockable AOE attacks in sequence, and a new combination between throwing a Bifrost-infused projectile and activating Realm Tear. To counter that, walk sideways to avoid the projectile and then either dodge or counter his advance. He will also make use of a buildup attack capable of dealing massive damage across the whole area, so once the blue rings appear, dash toward him and perform a shield break. With that said, our overall strategy will remain the same, so keep a cool head and finish the fight.

With God of War Ragnarok‘s massive realms come many bosses that can be brutally difficult. Although most of these bosses you encounter are all different, there are some that you will run into more than once. Soul Eaters are a typical side boss that you will have to defeat in side quests, the main story, and to obtain specific resources. They can be tricky to destroy, but once you understand the strategy behind them, they become easier and easier to fight. This guide will provide you with a foolproof method that will kill the Soul Eaters at a fast rate.

Best Strategy to Kill Soul Eaters

Soul Eaters can come in many forms, but the premise behind them remains the same. The goal is to aim for the beast’s chest constantly, but only once the chest is open; otherwise, your weapons will not damage. Check out the image below for reference when we say to wait for an opening of the chest.

This boss will open up its chest, where a beam will shoot out, and you can tell that this attack is coming when you see a red circle flash around its body. When you see that red circle, dodge to the left or right, avoid the beam, and throw your Leviathan axe at the open chest. Continue doing this, damaging the Soul Eater as much as you can.

The Soul Eater will also release glowing-like orbs onto the ground, which you can pick up and throw right back at him, aiming for the inside of the beast’s chest. This will severely damage the Soul Eater, making it the quickest strategy to take it down.

Dodging its attacks while using your Axe to damage his chest and throwing the orbs back at the beast is the goal. The good news is that now that you know the strategy, the next time will feel like a breeze.

Some of these Soul Eaters in the main story are required to defeat, but it is worth your time to fight the optional ones in the side quests. Defeating these optional bosses can lead you to receive rare resources that can craft you the best armor sets in the game. God of War Ragnarok contains tons of content to keep players busy even long after the credits rolls. There are side quests called favors, powerful armor to be found, ravens to collect, and even treasure maps to hunt down some treasure. Some of these treasure maps can lead to generous rewards, especially for crafting some powerful armor and enhancing Kratos’s amulet. One treasure that players will want to take the time to hunt down is the Washed Ashore treasure. This guide will provide you with the location of the treasure map and the area it leads you to acquire the rewards.

Where to Find the Washed Ashore Treasure

The treasure map is located in Svartalfheim on Alberich Island, shown in the image below. Players can only find this map if they have reached the part in the main story where they have received the spear. This is mainly because there is a puzzle that requires the spear’s ability.

Once on the island, to your right, use your spear on the crack in the wall. Climb to the top and use your partner’s arrows to clear the green rubble to the left; continue forward, and there will be more cracks to the right where you need to explode them with your arrow. This will raise the platform, so make your way back and traverse over the water. The treasure scroll will be located on the left of the island, up against a wall near the watermill.

Once you have received the treasure map, backtrack to your boat and proceed to the appropriate location on the map called Dragon Beach; use the image below for reference.

You will see a glowing item on the ground to the right as soon as you land on the beach.

Pick up the treasure, and you will be rewarded with the following items:

• 1x Petrified Bone
• 1x Limunous Alloy
• 1x Asgardian Ingot
• 40x Shattered Rune
• 1x Jotunheim’s Virtue Amulet Enchantment

If you are a completionist, you will need to find all these treasure maps and their locations throughout all nine realms. Completing these treasure hunts will allow you to craft the best armor, making the bosses less brutal when you challenge them.
